During the Summer of 2022, I participated in a Research Camp project at the University of Oviedo, Spain, where I conducted a full-scale research project and co-wrote and published a research paper with a local student titled “How does serif vs sans serif typeface impact the usability of e-commerce websites?”.
Mission
The goal of this internship was to participate in the development of a research project, understand all the typical phases of this kind of undertaking (study of the background, hypothesis development, experiment design and implementation, analysis, etc.) and participate in at least a part of them, including the dissemination that consists of the development of a poster and a research paper.

Conclusion
I had the opportunity to discover Oviedo and the region of Asturias during my free time with my
coworkers. I worked in a multicultural environment and learned a lot about the different cultures of my colleagues.
I also had a truly immersive experience in the shoes of a researcher and could complete a full research project in only two months. I participated in the creation of a poster and in the writing of a paper which was new to me.
This experience allowed me to develop my research skills, work in a team, and improved my communication and collaboration skills.
